House Barbrock
The new built house in West Beach takes on an L-shape design to create an extensive guest wing for visiting friends and family from overseas. This layout was conceptualised to protect a pool and garden from strong winds and to make the best use of natural light, while allowing the family to use the garden and the guests to appreciate Table Mountain and sea views from the top floor.
Clean lines, double volumes and high ceilings lend themselves to a contemporary space that still performs the function of a family home.
Consideration was given to sustainability by installing a solar geyser and a grey water recycling system used to flush toilets and to water the garden.
